Has Elvis Left the Building?
Just to illustrate that, although I’m a warner, I’m not a sourpuss, I’m giving you my song below, to the tune of “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” by Elvis:
Here’s the song:
“Are you shaking tonight? Did the quake hit tonight? Are you sorry
you didn’t prepare?
Does your memory stray to a bright sunny day, when your house
didn’t need much repair?
Are the things in your house now all over the floor? Do you know
Larry’s warnings were not just a bore?
If you’re starting to care, then wake up and prepare.
Tell me dear, are you shaking tonight?”
Make your home secure and your family safe.

Earthquake Damage To Your Home
Worse Than a Damaged Home – No Home At All
After the Napa quake seven years ago, PG&E reported that they had over 200 reports of gas leaks A number of homes in Napa were destroyed by fire after this quake. THAT is the reason that everyone should have an automatic gas shut-off valve installed.
The Napa quake was a 6.0 – when the Hayward ruptures, it could be a 7.0. That would result in about 10 times more shaking and about 33 times more energy released
Already have an automatic gas shutoff valve? Good on you!
What about your neighborhood?
We have worked with dozens of neighborhoods over the past 16 years. Send me contact info for your neighborhood coordinator and I’ll take it from there. More homes with valves installed = safer neighborhood.
What about your kids, your parents, your friends, all those whom you care about?
We use the Little Firefighter valve, and we have now installed over 4,500 gas shutoff valves in the SF bay area. Most plumbers charge from $375 to $500. Our normal price is $295 – $325, depending upon area. Cheapest fire insurance around. Now is the time. Quakeprepare.com/quakevalves

In Your Car You Should Have …
The Must Items For Your Car
This is real important, folks! When the Hayward fault ruptures, it is estimated that 1,400 roads in the East Bay alone will be impassible. If you’re not home when this happens, you’re going to be walking.
So here’s what you should have:
- An emergency kit in a backpack
- Some extra water – no kits have enough
- Extra food – for example, a couple of MREs
- Walking shoes and a coat for cold nights
- A gas tank which stays at least half full
Typical kits range in price from about $60 – $200. If you do a Google search, you’ll find a ton of choices from many suppliers. We have them on our web site: quakeprepare.com/quakekits
No reason to put this off, right?

Have You Forgotten These 3 Essentials?
You May Have Forgotten These:
1, If your automatic gas shutoff valve activates, you don’t have to call PG&E to turn it back on. If you’ve forgotten how, email me and I’ll send you the “how to” directions. 2. Store your 2 weeks of food inside, not outside. Your 55 gallon water barrel goes outside. 3. Secure your fridge. They hardly ever fall in a big quake, but they move a lot and can be damaged. You have an automatic gas shutoff valve, right? |
What about your neighbors, family, friends, or business associates? We’ve installed over 4,200 of them in the past 16 years. Our price is still the best: $275 in the East Bay, a little higher elsewhere.
Be safe.

Earthquakes and Covid 19
Is there a connection? Of course not. Earthquakes don’t care about Covid, and Covid doesn’t care about earthquakes. However, now that we are starting to see the light at the end of the terrible ordeal we’ve been experiencing, it might be time to turn some of our attention to EQ preparedness. So, here’s a tip on a subject you might have forgotten about: after a really serious EQ,we have no power – no lights. There are tons of solutions you can find online, but here is a starter: 11 Ways To Light Your Home When The Power Goes Out: https://urbansurvivalsite.com/ways-to-light-your-home-when-the-power-goes-out/ We’ve now installed over 4,200 automatic gas shutoff valves in the SF bay area. Got yours? How about the rest of your neighborhood? Our price in the East Bay is still $275 for a standard installation; slightly higher in other locations. Call or email me. Here’s the valve we use: LittleFirefighter.com Be safe. Larry Guillot https://quakeprepare.com 510-292-6571 email: larry@quakeprepare.com |
