If you do, You Will Be Injured!
Here’s something we cover in my QuakeConsult: when a big quake hits, the shaking will be so violent that you can’t stand up. Get on your hands and knees right away and crawl to the safest spot in the room you’re in, unless it’s the kitchen or a bathroom, in which case you’ll crawl to another location.
Don’t try and get outside: moving around is how you can get hurt – you’ll be knocked down! Plus, there are things outside that can fall on you. Your 1st reaction is: “I’ve got to get out of here!” You MUST ignore this.
If you have a child in another room, be sure to drop and crawl – you won’t be much help to your child if you’re injured.
Make your neighborhood safer – go on NextDoor and encourage folks to contact me and have us install an automatic gas shutoff valve. quakeprepare.com/quakevalves/
